Both these sights have excellent optic quality. Both provide a crisp view sight picture thanks to their multi-coated lenses that maximize light transmission and reduce glare.
However, if I had to go with one, I would pick the EOTech – the field of view and optical clarity is just a notch higher than the Holosun’s, especially when I shoot in bright daylight conditions. This is one of the reasons I rated the 512 as one of the Best Performing AR15 Scope I’ve tested.

In terms of handling comfort and ease of use, the Holosun is better. Its more compact and lighter design makes it easier for me to handle and does not compromise my rifle’s agility.

But it was nice to adjust my reticle brightness to match exactly with the ambient light conditions when I used the EOTech.

Battery life also has to go to Holosun. Not to take anything away from the EOTech, but Holosun has the best holographic sights in terms of battery life, with all kinds of innovative features to boost the battery life.
With its single CR2032, the Holosun is rated to last up to 50,000 hours. The sight features a solar panel to boost battery life and act as a fail-safe in case your battery quits on you. Additionally, the sight also has shake awake technology – a feature that automatically switches the sight on when it detects motion.
In comparison, the EOTech comes with 2x AA batteries – It is rated to last 1,000 hours of continuous use on setting 12, which is still quite good, considering most tested holographic sights only last 500 hours.
5) Sight Size & Design
As already mentioned, the Holosun has a more compact and lightweight design compared to the EOTech. That’s why I rated the 507c & 508t optics so highly. This makes it easier to maneuver and handle. However, I prefer the EOTech’s design in terms of durability. It just feels more robust and comfortable to tackle the elements.

I always pay special attention to the company’s warranty on its products. Not only am I protected in case something happens, but it also reveals a lot about the company’s customer service and how much they believe in their products.
